Privacy Policy

This page says what STRYV Local keeps about you, why, who helps us run it, and how to get in touch. STRYV Local is run by STRYV Creative LLC, a Pennsylvania company ("STRYV", "we", "us").

It covers the panel at my.stryv.host, the preview and sales pages we make for businesses, the emails we send, and the forms and visitor counts on the websites we host for our customers.

1. If you have an account

Contact details: your name and email address, and, if you add them on your Account page, your phone, business name and mailing address. We use them to reach you about your site and to put on your invoices; they are copied to your customer record at Stripe for that.
Signing in: there are no passwords. We email you a link that works once and expires after 20 minutes, and keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it. Once you are in, a cookie in your browser holds a signed note of which account you are. The panel sets no advertising or tracking cookies; the only others are one that keeps a visit to the public demo separate, one that remembers a referral link you followed (so the free month applies when you pick a plan), and one on our own staff's devices that keeps our visits out of the counts.
Limits on sign-in requests: to stop abuse, we note each request for a sign-in link with the email address and the network (IP) address kept only as keyed hashes, which let us count requests without keeping the addresses.
Billing: Stripe takes and holds your card details; we never see or keep your full card number. We keep Stripe's reference numbers for you and your plan, which plan you are on, and its dates and status.
What you do in the panel: your answers to the facts, your change requests and our replies, and a log of changes to your site and account (who did what, and when).
Emails we send you (sign-in links, reminders, notices) are kept as a record of what was sent.
When something breaks, we record the page, the time, the error and which account was signed in, so we can fix it.

2. Visitors to our customers' websites

Visitor counts: the sites we host count taps on their Call, Directions and Email buttons, and visits, per site and per day. Only the counts are kept, nothing about who tapped.
Google Analytics: the sites we host use Google Analytics, which STRYV runs on each business's behalf. It measures visits, which pages are viewed, the general location a visit comes from (such as the town or region) and the kind of device and browser. It sets its own cookies in the visitor's browser. The business can see the totals. A business can ask us to switch it off for its site.
Forms: when you send a form on a site we host, what you typed, the page you sent it from, your browser's name and the time are stored for that business in its panel and emailed to its owners. Your network (IP) address is kept only as a salted hash, used to stop floods of spam. A spam check runs when you send. The business decides what its forms ask and what it does with your answers; ask the business if you want your entry changed or removed, or write to us.

3. Businesses we have made a preview for

We build preview sites for local businesses from public information: the business's name, address, phone, hours, services and photos from its own website, listings and signs. We send the owner a private link to a sales page and the preview, which are kept out of search engines.

Page views: we count views of each sales page and preview. To tell one visitor from another on the same day we keep a hash of the network address and browser under a key we replace every day, so it cannot be linked across days. No cookies are used for this, and our own visits are left out.
Our emails: links in the emails we send to businesses pass through my.stryv.host so we can count clicks.
Opting out: every email has an unsubscribe link, and replying "stop" works too. After that we keep the address, and a do-not-contact mark on the business, only so that we never email it again.

4. What we do not do

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising. We do not use it to build profiles of people.

5. Who helps us run STRYV Local

We use a small number of trusted service providers, only to provide their part of the service and under their own privacy and security commitments:

Hosting: the companies that host the panel, its database and the websites we run for our customers.
Payments: Stripe takes payments and holds card details.
Email: a provider that sends and receives our email.
Domains: a domain registrar; the records for domains we register list STRYV as the contact, not you.
Spam protection: a service that checks form entries for spam.
Code storage: a service that holds the files our customers' websites are built from, including their business details and photos.
Google Analytics measures visits to the sites we host, as described in section 2.
Fonts: the panel's typeface is served by a font service, so your browser asks it for the font when you open the panel.

Information is kept in the United States.

6. How long we keep things

Cancelling ends the service at the end of the period you have paid for (the month, or the year on a yearly plan). We keep your records while your account is open and after it ends, unless you ask us to delete them.

If you ask us to delete your information after your plan has ended, we remove your contact details and your site's form entries, and take your site down. We keep the invoices and payment records the law requires us to keep, and a short record that the account existed. We do this by hand; write to us at the address below.

7. Your choices

See and change your contact details on your Account page.
Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by email.
Unsubscribe from our sales emails with the link in any of them.

8. Keeping it safe

The panel and the sites we host are served over HTTPS. Sign-in links are single use and short lived, and only hashes of them are kept. Access to the panel's staff side is limited to STRYV. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

9. Children

STRYV Local is a service for businesses. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here, and email account holders before a change that matters takes effect.
